Our Promise to God We promise to pray and study scripture, alone and together, asking God daily for grace to seek God's vision for our lives and work at St. Andrew's. Our Promises to Our Church Family We promise to demonstrate our commitment to St. Andrew's by regular attendance at worship, and by giving of our time, talent, and treasure. We promise to model leadership by building a strong team, communicating directly and supporting the rector and each other. We promise to do what we say we will do and hold each other accountable for our conduct, behavior, tasks and commitments. We promise to work with our clergy and staff to make their efforts productive. We promise to listen respectfully to every person, honoring their commitment to God and to St. Andrew's, agreeing that we are all seeking the mind of Christ, and empowering all people to speak directly with each other. We promise to keep confidentiality when appropriate, but to encourage as much openness as possible, and to share information as widely as possible. We promise to focus on positive actions and on principles and lead by example. Our Promises to Each Other We promise to encourage participation from all; to listen with an open mind; and to respectfully discuss, debate, and discern together what is best for St. Andrew's as a whole. We promise to support the final decision of the vestry on particular issues, whether it reflects our view or not. |
